Join us next Thursday, November 27 on Maaverar Naal (Great Heroes Day) from 6:30-10pm to honour our fallen soldiers of the Tamil Liberation Struggle in Eelam. We wish to take the time to remember the martyrs and their ultimate sacrifice in giving up their lives for freedom. The event will be held at Maslows Community Shop on 94 Langlands Road in Govan (G51 3BQ).

Doors open at 6:30 and a warm (gluten-free & vegan) meal will be served. The screening will be introduced with a presentation on the Tamil struggle by Solidarity Screenings members. A feature film will be shown on the love for one’s child, love for one’s people, and love for the homeland. Following that, we will have a commemoration for those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for freedom and liberation.

The event will raise funds for the families of martyrs, the funds will be split between families in Glasgow and in Eelam. As such, we recommend donations upon entry or when reserving your ticket. If you can’t make it but would like to donate, there is an option for this on Eventbrite. As always, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
