Women are the embodiment of Algeria’s struggle for national liberation. While French colonialism ravaged the nation for 132 years, Algerian women withstood, their steadfastness unparalleled. Their husbands killed and their sons held hostage, women left alone carried Algeria forwards. In our next screening, we will remember their struggle during colonialism and after independence. 🇩🇿

Join us on Thursday, the 5th of September, between 6-9pm at the @listengallery where we will run a presentation on Algerian women’s role in the revolution, followed by the short and a feature, then ending with a meal and group discussion. Sign up to Eventbrite (link in bio) to book your free space. Please also donate to the venue if you are able to do so!

⚠️ Please be aware that the films deal with the impacts of colonialism. The feature depicts bombardments, a dead animal, aggression towards women and scenes of death.
