Solidarity with the Venezuelan People

We express our wholehearted solidarity with the Venezuelan people in their just struggle against the American empire!

On the 3rd of January, the US regime launched a barbaric attack against Venezuela, bombed the country and kidnapped its democratically elected leader. The US has slaughtered 80 people in this attack.

We express our utmost solidarity with Venezuela. The US has been trying to reimpose its control over Venezuela since the Bolivarian Revolution of 1999. Through the course of the revolution, the oil barons of the US were kicked out. The Trump administration is very honest about what their regime change operation is about. It is also important to remember that the aggression against Venezuela has not let up, the last US-backed coup attempt was only 6 years ago with Juan Guaidó!

While the US views Latin America as its backyard and has been leading the charge against Venezuela, the British state and the EU are not innocent. In response to the brazen moves by the US regime, “Sir” Keir Starmer released a statement supporting the terroristic moves of the US, claiming to support “international law”. The liberal mask of imperialism has long fallen off, the absurdity of this statement lays itself bare.

US imperialism believes its own lies about Venezuela. Kidnapping the head of state isn’t going to lead to the collapse of Venezuelan society. If they want Venezuela’s resources, they will have no choice but to send boots on the ground. And they will fail. In the hardest conditions imaginable, the US was fought to a standstill in Iraq and was kicked out of Afghanistan, the US-UK-EU backed ‘israel’ could not defeat the resistance in Gaza. If they dare invade, then Venezuela will become their new Vietnam.

The US, with its allies of the British state and the EU, are the main enemies of the international working-class, oppressed peoples and nations. These recent moves by the Trump administration is an expression of American desperation as its position as #1 economic power is threatened. It will continue to lash out both externally and internally - until it is put down.

We, as the international working class, must build up new revolutionary anti-imperialist organisations while strengthening existing ones. We have the historic task ahead of us of overthrowing imperialism everywhere, once and for all.

In the words of Hugo Chavez: “Go to hell a hundred times, fucking Yankees!”
